Let’s walk the path together
About Susan Given, MSW, MPH
I am a registered Social Worker, I have a Master of Social Work as well as a Master of Population & Public Health. My background includes over 19 years in healthcare in a variety of roles within Community Health including Mental Health and Addiction programming.
“I am dedicated to providing compassionate support and therapeutic guidance to help you navigate challenges, heal from pain, and move toward the life you envision. I look forward to making your counselling experience both meaningful and lasting.”
I work from a strengths-based perspective to build and strengthen coping skills, self-esteem, and confidence. I bring curiosity, compassion, and a warm practical nature to my practice. I use a collaborative, client-centred and trauma-informed approach in working with adults in areas of grief and loss, trauma, couples and relationship work, life transitions, parenting support, anxiety and depression, stress and burnout. In our work together we strengthen interpersonal skills and develop stronger relationships to navigate life challenges and identifying a path forward.
I use various techniques such as Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness, and Narrative therapeutic approaches. Together you can expect to identify goals, strategies and resources within to support moving forward.
As a mother of two energetic kids living in Jasper, we enjoy family adventures and cooking together. Outside of work, I love running, hiking, and connecting with nature. It would be my privilege to support you on your journey to a happier, more fulfilled life.
To ensure the right fit, I invite you to meet with me for a free 10-minute consultation, where you can discuss your needs and goals before beginning your journey.
